City Council President Rodney Wiltshire led his Team Troy into the Rensselaer County Board of Elections Thursday afternoon to file petitions bearing 1,216 signatures, the most filed by any of the three Democratic candidates.
Wiltshire filed nearly 109 more signatures than the endorsed Democratic candidate Patrick Madden and 361 more than Ernest Everett.
Wiltshire issued a release saying the support he received in the petition “clearly shows the hunger for real change our great city. Everybody can see the potential Troy has. We’ve found people intuitively understand that electing someone from the same old machine won’t lead to the new leadership Troy needs to unlock that potential.”
